My gaming history

Born in the 1990's, as a consumer, I was bombarded with games and gaming consoles. I owned a gameboy, comador 64, SNES, playstation, and Xbox. I never had the chance to divulge into other gaming consoles and games. I heard of them but the enormous popularity of other companies just brought my attention like shit to flies.
Bgeinning with the comador, This was at the time when I was very young and oly just noticing electronic games. Most of the time it was fun and a way to kill the boredom but the more I got suckered in, the more my gaming youth became frustrating developing an anger management issue when loosing at games and beoming very competitive. I can't really remember many of the games but one in perticular stood out from the rest which was settlers. In the game world, I love strategy games and it was the first RTS game i played where I could customise the game and making it my own by controlling tiny character to build structures. But at this time the graphics werent what they seemed to a little use of imagination lead my interest in games. I then got a SNES and Gameboy which I adored. I wasted so many hours playing them games but like other games from my past, I cant remember them unless I was reminded with cartridge. Friends would come over as I kissed my outdoor time goodbye.
As a child I wasn't in the best health but it didnt interupt my gaming as they had a sega gensis which I played so much I ignored being ill at all. The most memorable game, and even to this day, is sonic the hedgehog. At first I didnt even know what he was because he didn't look like a hedgehog and when he spun on the floor and traveled at super speeds I was on the edge enjoying myself. I then was bless with a computer which was a funny story for christmas where santa left a mouse at the back door and I said "thanks santa, not far away from a full compter" Idiot.
But as soon as that baby was set up I shit my pants in exitement and played Command and Conquer throughout the day and night and found glitches and tricks to completing the game in more fun ways. Now when I play it I can't do a damn thing but back then I had mad skills like most kids I knew and when I got the interenet I moved onto a game called runescape. An adventure game with leveling that I remember from Final Fantasy. And one important espect that still keeps me playing games and being able to play it with your friends or people around the world. I met a kid the same age as me who was German and I was like HOLY SHIT! I was now aware of the enormous stretch that games have gone.
This was at the time where graphics were less important than gameplay which astounds me why we don't have this now. For the future of games I actualy want their to be a fork in the road where technology is concearned and focus on the storyline, gameplay and what they are trying to achieve and not just one big art project.
Unfortunately this means Im being a hypocrit. For the gamer in me I would sacrifice graphics for gameplay but as a job or career I would be concentrating my time on how the game looks. A constant battle with no end. But I have read many entries that scare me of how fast technology is progressing and where it will go. The manifest of the uni bomber is one in perticular.
But I look on the bright side and I would love to play a first person game in virtual reality, shooting people from around the world as if Im really there or playing a real time strategy game on a table or a mat where I could simply touch characters to select them and feel like im constructing the game.
For me, my childhood was the best time for games but thats my personal opinion and depends on the generation and the person themself but I will always remember those games and where its lead me now.
